The Power Of Faith

I come from an influential family in central India and grew up worshipping stone gods. My parents wanted the best education for me, so they enrolled me in an Adventist secondary school. We didn’t know what “Adventist” meant then. I liked the school and made friends quickly. One friend, Amith, invited me to his home on Saturday. I was surprised that he and his family weren’t watching television, but instead were talking about something called the “Sabbath.” When I asked Amith what the Sabbath was, he invited me to church the next Saturday. I was curious, so I went. Inside the church I recognized some people I knew from school. To my surprise, the sermon was on the Sabbath. The pastor read Bible texts and explained why the Sabbath was so special. I didn’t know Christ, but by the time we left church I understood the Sabbath. I attended church with Amith every week. I loved the worship service, and the hymns brought me peace. The Bible lessons were simple but profound. Christianity was so different from my family’s religion. I often joined a classmate for her family’s worship. They explained difficult Bible texts, and I began reading the Bible for myself. The Creation story was so different from what I had been taught. I knew I had to follow God, not my family’s gods. I told my parents that I had decided to follow Jesus and would no longer worship the gods I had once worshipped. But they didn’t give up. One day they asked me to go with them on a religious pilgrimage-to carry their luggage, they said. But when I realized that they wanted me to take part in the temple rituals. I knew I couldn’t do it. I didn’t want to argue with them, so I left the train at the next station and returned home. When my parents returned, they asked me why I had left them. I explained that God forbids worship of other gods. We sat for five hours as I explained what I could about God, Creation, Jesus’ life and death, and His second coming. Finally my parents nodded. They didn’t understand my new faith, but they let me follow my convictions. I thank God for leading me to the Adventist high school. It changed my life. I now teach young people knowing that they can share their faith with their families. It’s my way of giving back. Produced by the General Conference Office of Adventist Mission. ...

Jesus Saves Me

Lord I thank you for dying for a wretch like me. Oh, what Amazing Grace that saves me. I once was lost but Jesus found me and is leading me. Yes Lord! You found me, thank You Jesus! Sometimes I go my own way and He waited for me. He cleansed me and clothed me in His righteousness and put my feet on solid ground again and turned me around. What a merciful God You are. Day by day my battle goes on. Not an easy road but with You Lord all things are possible. With Your strength not my strength but Your strength Lord Jesus I can and will make it. I will sing of Your mercies forever and Your faithfulness to me. “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.” (Psalms 34:8 KJV)~ Beverley E. Shaw Cover With His Life Look upon Jesus, sinless is He; Father, impute His life unto me. My life of scarlet, my sin and woe, Cover with His life, whiter than snow. Refrain Cover with His life, whiter than snow; Fullness of His life then shall I know; My life of scarlet, my sin and woe, Cover with His life, whither than snow. 2 Deep are the wounds transgression has made; Red are the stains; my soul is afraid. O to be covered, Jesus, with Thee, Safe from the law that now judgeth me! 3 Longing the joy of pardon to know; Jesus holds out a robe white as snow; “Lord, I accept it! Leaving my own, Gladly I wear Thy pure life alone.” 4 Reconciled by His death for my sin, Justified by His life pure and clean, Sanctified by obeying His word, Glorified when returneth my Lord. My Testimony

I had a liver transplant on 12/13/2001 at Jackson Memorial Hospital. I receive my liver from my daughter which is such a blessing to get a second chance in life. My transplant was due to Cryptogenic Liver Cirrhosis. My life changed dramatically but I have no complaints because I am ALIVE. I have been on prograf and steroids since my transplant. I had a rejection in 2004 when my enzymes went up and a liver biopsy was done. Since the rejection I have been taking 2 mg in the am and 1 mg in the pm along with 8 mg medrol twice a week. Since May of this year, my  liver enzymes elevated and my doses were increased to 2 mg in A.M and 2 mg in P.M.  My Doctors. also increase the medrol to 12 mg per week. Thank God so far my enzymes level went down to normal and I hope they stay normal. I just did my labs on 7/5 hopefully the results are normal. I am hoping my Drs will be decreasing my meds again. SIDE EFFECTS High BP, forgetfulness, anxiety, H/A  occasionally but the benefits to me is greater than the risk of side effects. Its  been a life changing experience since my transplantation. No complaints at all because I am so very happy to be alive no need to complain but to be content with my situation and live one day at a time. Thank God for my daughter and the medications, and my Doctors too. God bless everyone and thankful to all for the continued prayers. (prayers, prayers, and more prayers) “Pray without ceasing” 1 Thessalonians 5:17) UPDATE:   My ALT had gone up but as of today results are back to normal my meds were not decreased but increased; now  I’m on steroids daily. It is well with my soul. To God be the Glory GREAT things He has done. My labs are back to normal. 7/28/11 Thank you Lord!!! I am above ground with my family . Oh how I love my children, they are a Blessing to me. Thank you Jesus.. You are AWESOME! Your name is worthy to be praised….I will continue to do blood test every 2 weeks. Whatever state I am in I  learn to be content and be thankful. UPDATE: AS OF 8/15/11 My labs are normal and have been staying normal since 7/28 My steroids are decreased to 1 (qod) every other day I am still on Prograf 2 mg/2 mg q12h, hopefully I can go back to doing my labs monthly instead of every 2 weeks. Thank you Lord for your blessings on me. God is my strong tower…. As of 9/12/11 my blood test : liver enzymes normal with low platelets and high bilirubin those are usually the norm but...
