Pray for Someone

JESUS said,  “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.’  ‘Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.’ So, ‘Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Please  Lift up someone in prayer as you claim these promises from God. Day: 6 Self Examination

Throughout the Bible, God admonishes us to spend time examining our hearts.  Paul urges us to look  “carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;” Roots produce shoots and shoots produce fruits. If there is a root of bitterness in your heart, it will produce the shoots of anger, criticism, or gossip, and will result in the tragic fruit of a broken relationship. All sinful roots will eventually produce their ugly fruits. When we see God’s loving-kindness and observe the righteousness of His character, we recognize our weakness, shortcomings, and sins, In the blazing light of His unconditional love and perfection, our hearts are humbled. We are led to deep confession and repentance. Self Examination may not always be the most pleasant experience, but it is absolutely necessary. In self-examination we ask God “Is there anything in my life that is not in harmony with Your will?” We pray, “Lord reveal those attitudes deep within my soul that are not like Jesus.” Our Lord is bigger than our mistakes and greater than our failures. Understanding our weakness prepare us to receive His strength. Understanding our sinfulness prepares us to receive His righteousness. Understanding our ignorance prepares us to receive His wisdom. The Holy Spirit may lead us to lament over our fallen natures, but He does not leave us there. The purpose of the Holy Spirit’s conviction is to lead us to Jesus. Before God makes us, He must break us.Before He fills us, He must empty us. Before He is enthroned in our hearts , self must be dethroned. What a wonderful saviour is Jesus our Lord. 1 Peter 3:6-9

Called to Blessing ” Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tender hearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:6-9 (NKJV)

Knowing God Through Love

7″ Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:7-12 New King James Version...

Day 4: Honest Confession

Confession of sin has always characterized genuine revival. Confession opens the heart and clears the way for the mighty outpouring of God’s Spirit. If the channels of the soul are clogged by sin, the Spirit cannot flow through us to impact the world. “He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13) We will not “prosper” spiritually unless we are honest with ourselves and God. Unconfessed sin is cancer to the soul. Before the Holy Spirit fills us and empowers us, He convicts us and instructs us. Unless we confess the sins the Holy Spirit points out, our hearts will become barren. “As the disciples waited for the fulfillment of the promise, they humbled their hearts in true repentance and confessed their unbelief” (The Acts of the Apostles,p.36) Confession was always very specific.”True confession is always of a specific character, and acknowledges particular sins. They may be of such a nature as to be brought before God only; they may be wrongs that should be confessed to individuals who have suffered injury through them; or they may be of a public character, and should then be as publicly confessed. But all confession should be definite and to the point, acknowledging the very sins of which you are guilty.” (Steps to Christ, p. 38). Sin clogs the arteries of our spiritual hearts. It corrodes the channels of the soul. It blocks the blessing God longs to pour out through us. The answer is confession. Confess to God and others we have wronged or hurt and ask for forgiveness..   Excerpt from  10 Days in the Upper Room  by Mark A. New Year 2012

Looking Ahead and Moving Forward; No Looking Back. Whatever the obstacles that will come my way I will remember these promises from the Lord. ‘But now, thus says the LORD, who created me , O Jacob, And He who formed me, O Israel: I will fear not, for You  have redeemed me; You have called me by my name; I am Yours.  When I pass through the waters, You will be with me; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow me. When I walk through the fire,  I shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch me . For You are  the LORD my God, The Holy One of Israel,  my Savior; You gave Egypt for my ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in my place. Lord I thank You for these promises that I will hold in my heart, with the help of the Holy Spirit  and live them as I go through life’s crucibles. “Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2Corinthians 5:17   Amen Isaiah 43:1-3  1. ‘But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. 3. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.” Isaiah...
