My Country,’Tis of Thee

My country, ’tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty, Of thee I sing; Land where my fathers died, Land of the pilgrims’ pride, From every mountainside, Let freedom ring! My native country, thee, Land of the noble free, Thy name I love; I love thy rocks and rills, Thy woods and templed hills; My heart with rapture thrills, Like that above. Let music swell the breeze, And ring from all the trees, Sweet freedom’s song; Let mortal tongues awake; Let all that breathe partake; Let rocks their silence break, The sound prolong. Our fathers’ God, to Thee, Author of liberty, To Thee we sing; Long may our land be bright With freedom’s holy light; Protect us by Thy might, Great God, our King. Thought for the Day/The Eternal Word

John 1:1-5  (NKJV) The Eternal Word ”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” New King James Version (NKJV) John 1 entire...

Christ for the World We Sing-Hymn

Christ for the World We Sing: Words  by Samuel Wolcott  Christ for the world we sing, The world to Christ we bring, with loving zeal, The poor and them that mourn, the faint and overborne, Sin sick and sorrow worn, whom Christ doth heal. Christ for the world we sing, The world to Christ we bring, with fervent prayer; The wayward and the lost, by restless passions tossed, Redeemed at countless cost, from dark despair. Christ for the world we sing, The world to Christ we bring, with one accord; With us the work to share, with us reproach to dare, With us the cross to bear, for Christ our Lord. Christ for the world we sing, The world to Christ we bring, with joyful song; The newborn souls, whose days, reclaimed from error’s ways, Inspired with hope and praise, to Christ belong.  ”But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.” Acts 10:35 NKJV) ——————————————————————————– Text: Samuel Wolcott,...

Devotion/Peace

Devotion/Peace

Do you want Peace? Abiding peace, true rest of spirit, has but one Source. It was of this that Christ spoke when He said, “Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.” John 14:27. This peace is not something that He gives apart from Himself. It is in Christ, and we can receive it only by receiving Him. excerpt from The Ministry of Healing p 247 by Ellen G....

Lead On, O King Eternal/Hymn

619 – Lead On, O King Eternal 1.Lead on, O King eternal, the day of march has come; henceforth in fields of conquest thy tents shall be our home. Through days of preparation thy grace has made us strong; and now, O King eternal, we lift our battle song. 2.Lead on, O King eternal, till sin’s fierce war shall cease, and holiness shall whisper the sweet amen of peace. For not with swords loud clashing, nor roll of stirring drums; with deeds of love and mercy the heavenly kingdom comes. 3 Lead on, O King eternal, we follow, not with fears, for gladness breaks like morning where’er thy face appears. Thy cross is lifted o’er us, we journey in its light; the crown awaits the conquest; lead on, O God of might 619 SDA...
