Oral Health

Oral Health

Your oral health and Your Transplant: Excellent dental care is essential for everyone. However, it is especially important for transplant recipients because oral problems can lead to oral infections, which can release bacteria into your bloodstream. The medications you take to prevent your body from rejecting your new organ, unfortunately also put you at a higher risk for infection. To reduce your risk, good oral hygiene is a must: Brush your teeth twice daily Brush your tongue once daily Gently floss your teeth once daily Replace your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months Keep your regular dental appointments Before having any dental work, including teeth cleaning, you will need to take an antibiotic to help prevent infection. You can get a letter from your transplant team letting your dentist know that you will need a prescription for an antibiotic, and which antibiotic is recommended (erythromycin should be avoided due to potential interaction with some immunosuppressive medications). Thought for the Day

By Faith We Understand: Hebrews 11: 1-3 1″ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. 3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11: 1-13  New King James Version...

Verse for the Day

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.  Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.  He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.” John 6: 63-65   Entire chapter John...

God’s Perfect Knowledge of Man

God’s Perfect Knowledge of Man

Psalm 139 15-24 God’s Perfect Knowledge of Man 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16″Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. 19 Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men. 20 For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain. 21 Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:15-24, Psalm 139 entire...

My Maker and My King

015 – My Maker and My King 1 My Maker and my King, To Thee my all I owe; Thy sovereign bounty is the spring Whence all my blessings flow; Thy sovereign bounty is the spring Whence all my blessings flow. 2 The creature of Thy hand, On Thee alone I live; My God, Thy benefits demand More praise than I can give. My God, Thy benefits demand More praise than I can give. 3 Lord, what can I impart When all is Thine before? Thy love demands a thankful heart; The gift, alas! how poor. Thy love demands a thankful heart; The gift, alas! how poor. 4 O! let Thy grace inspire My soul with strength divine; Let every word each desire And all my days be Thine. Let every word each desire And all my days be Thine. Source: SDA Hymnal #15 – My Maker and My King...
