Dear Father, ” Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise. Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion;Build the walls of Jerusalem. Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, With burnt offering and whole burnt offering; Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar. ” Amen Psalm 51: 14-19 New King James...
Dear Jesus, ” Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.” Amen Psalm 51: 7-13 New King James...
A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. 1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3 When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long. 4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah 6 For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You In a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters They shall not come near him. 7 You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. 9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him. 11 Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Psalm 32 New King James Version...
Throughout the Bible, God admonishes us to spend time examining our hearts. Paul urges us to look “carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;” Roots produce shoots and shoots produce fruits. If there is a root of bitterness in your heart, it will produce the shoots of anger, criticism, or gossip, and will result in the tragic fruit of a broken relationship. All sinful roots will eventually produce their ugly fruits. When we see God’s loving-kindness and observe the righteousness of His character, we recognize our weakness, shortcomings, and sins, In the blazing light of His unconditional love and perfection, our hearts are humbled. We are led to deep confession and repentance. Self Examination may not always be the most pleasant experience, but it is absolutely necessary. In self-examination we ask God “Is there anything in my life that is not in harmony with Your will?” We pray, “Lord reveal those attitudes deep within my soul that are not like Jesus.” Our Lord is bigger than our mistakes and greater than our failures. Understanding our weakness prepare us to receive His strength. Understanding our sinfulness prepares us to receive His righteousness. Understanding our ignorance prepares us to receive His wisdom. The Holy Spirit may lead us to lament over our fallen natures, but He does not leave us there. The purpose of the Holy Spirit’s conviction is to lead us to Jesus. Before God makes us, He must break us.Before He fills us, He must empty us. Before He is enthroned in our hearts , self must be dethroned. What a wonderful saviour is Jesus our Lord. Called to Blessing ” Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tender hearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:6-9 (NKJV)
Lyrics: These are the days of Elijah Declaring the Word of the Lord And these are the days of Your Servant Moses Righteousness being restored And though these are days of Great trials Of famine and darkness and sword Still we are the voice in the desert crying Prepare ye the way of the Lord Behold He comes riding on the clouds Shining like the sun at the trumpet call Lift your voice it’s the Year of Jubilee Out of Zion’s hill salvation comes These are the days of Ezekiel The dry bones becoming as flesh And these are the days of Your servant David Rebuilding a temple of praise And these are the days of the harvest The fields are as white in Your world And we are the laborers in Your vineyard Declaring the Word of the the Lord There’s no god like Jehova Lift your voice it’s the year of Jubilee Out of...
Dear Lord, “Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.” Amen Psalm 51:1-6 New King James...
