What is Cholesterol: a waxy substance similar to fat that is made in the liver. It is needed by the body to create hormones, Vitamin D and bile acids. An excess of the wrong type of cholesterol (LDL) can increase your risk for stroke, heart disease, heart attacks and plaque formation in the arteries. There are two type of cholesterol~ LDL (low density “bad” lipoproteins) and HDL (high density “good” lipoproteins) HDL is considered the “good cholesterol”, It removes excess LDL from the bloodstream, and protect against heart disease. High levels reflect a healthy metabolic system. LDL is considered the “bad cholesterol”, It adheres to the arterial walls, creating obstructions or narrowing which increases the risk of cardiovascular problems. Studies show that there is a link between high levels ( LDL) and arterial atherosclerosis – (plaque building on the arterial walls causing narrowing or obstruction in the heart). see Heart Diseases Cholesterol is also found in the blood circulation of humans. Cholesterol in the blood originates from dietary intake and liver production. Dietary cholesterol comes primarily from animal sources including meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products. Organ meats such as liver, are especially high in cholesterol content. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Amen. Psalm 23...
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and it should be the biggest meal of the day. After fasting all night, break the fast with a big healthy breakfast. Eat breakfast like a king/queen, Lunch like a prince/princess, supper like a pauper and close the kitchen at 6pm. A number of studies show that people who successfully maintain a significant weight loss eat breakfast just about every day. It’s time we take a serious look at the morning meal. Most of us eat the same breakfast every day like me. We tend to eat pastries, sugar-coated cereal or eggs, but in a society where obesity is rampant, it makes sense to re-examine our eating habits and stay away from pastries and the sugary cereal. What you choose to eat for breakfast makes a big difference for your health. A variety of fruits can bring you near the minimum number of five daily fruits and vegetable servings recommended for lower cancer risk. Try a variety of vegetables in an omelet sometimes, this is healthy. If you choose healthful, slow-burning foods, like whole grains and fruits, you should be able to control your appetite until about midday lunchtime. Also eating throughout the day is less likely. In fact according to the American Institute for Cancer Research, eating more fruits and vegetables, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight could cut cancer rates by 30 to 40 percent. Choose whole grain breads and cereals (with low sugar content), fresh or canned fruits (in unsweetened juice) and even foods that one normally wouldn’t eat for breakfast like left over salmon on a whole wheat bagel. Stock your pantry with healthful ingredients, like oatmeal, whole wheat bread, Cheerios, wheat germ, nuts and canned or dried fruit. This will help to prevent you from grabbing unhealthy food on the run like doughnuts. Flaxseed is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which you can grind and add to low-fat cereal, yogurt, cottage cheese and smoothies. ”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive”.
