“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20 NKJV) Overcoming the Fear of Lack One of the biggest fears that people face is the fear of lack. It’s the fear that your needs won’t be met – that you’ll run out of resources and that God won’t come through for you in time. You may be in a situation of lack that you’ve never been in before, in desperate need of finances or other resources to simply meet your basic needs. Maybe you’re facing an emotional or spiritual lack. The spirit of fear might be attacking you, telling you that God cannot meet your needs and that you won’t make it. You need to know today that the enemy is a liar, and God cares about your situation. He has a plan and He is working on your behalf to provide what you need at the right time. Even when it seems like nothing is coming your way, God always knows how to miraculously provide. Whatever your needs may be – financial, physical, emotional, spiritual – you don’t have to fear lack. God will provide for you, comfort you, nourish you and bring you back to a place of strength. Trust in His provision. Prayer Starter: God, Your Word says that You will supply all my needs, so I won’t give in to the fear of lack. I believe that You love me and that You will come through and provide for me.-[Promises For Your Everyday Life: Joyce...
A Cord of Three Strands Is Not Easily Broken There’s nothing better than a really great marriage and nothing worse than a bad one. Christian marriages are meant to be living proof that two people can become a strong force in achieving God’s will – both for our pleasure and to impact the world. However, the blending of two individuals into one harmonious marriage is a process that won’t happen on its own. A good marriage does not just happen, no matter how wildly in love you are when you get married. You need to invite God into the process. When we know Jesus and invite Him into our marriage, our relationship is made up of three strands. And there is great strength in the union of a man and woman when Christ is included. Happiness in marriage is not about finding a spouse who always acts the way we want them to. It is about two imperfect people trusting in a perfect God and conforming to His will and purpose for them. That’s a marriage God can bless! Prayer Starter: God, I love my spouse, but a two-strand cord is not enough. I want to do my part to invite You into our marriage so You can strengthen our love for each other and lead us into Your plan for us.- Promises For Your Everyday Life: Joyce...
“But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8. – “In His Word God compares Himself to a potter and His people to the clay. His work is to mold and fashion them after His own similitude. The lesson they are to learn is the lesson of submission. Self is not to be made prominent. If due attention is given to the divine instruction, if self is surrendered to the divine will, the hand of the Potter will produce a shapely vessel. – The excellence of a genuine connection with Christ comes with obedience to the words, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me….” The worker who has this experience has an intense longing to know the fullness of the love that passes knowledge. His capacity to enjoy the love of God constantly increases. Learning daily in the school of Christ he has a constantly increasing capacity to grasp the meaning of the sublime truths that are as far-reaching as eternity…. – He realizes that he is material with which God is working, and that he must be passive in the Master’s hands. Trials come to him, for unless tested by trial and disappointment he would never know his lack of wisdom and experience. – If he seeks the Lord with humility and trust, every trial will work for his good. He may sometimes seem to fail, but his supposed failure to reach the place where he hoped to stand may be God’s way of bringing his advancement. He thinks that he has failed, but his supposed failure means a better knowledge of himself and a firmer trust in God…. He may make mistakes, but he learns not to repeat these mistakes. United with Christ, the True Vine, he is enabled to bear fruit to the glory of God…. – The Lord desires us to be meek and lowly and contrite, yet filled with the assurance that comes from a knowledge of the will of God. He “hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind…. Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace …” (2 Timothy 1:7-9). – Heavenly Places: Ellen G....
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV) “Remember, God has a good plan with a future and a hope for each of us. Because He is with us, we can think and speak in agreement with His will. We can practice being positive in every situation that arises. And when our circumstances are challenging and difficult, we can expect God to bring good out of them as He has promised in His Word.”-Joyce Meyer: Promises For a Your everyday...
The Lifter of Our Heads “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah (Psalms 3:3, 4 NKJV) God has good plans for you and He wants you to enjoy your life. He doesn’t want you to live with a spirit of heaviness, despair, depression or discouragement. The good news is, your attitude and outlook can change when you look to God and let Him lift you up. The psalmist said that God “is a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.” Think about that phrase ‘the lifter of my head.’ When someone walks around with their head hanging down, we assume that they’re sad or depressed. If that’s the way you feel, know today that God can lift your head and your spirits.- Joyce Meyer : Promises For Your Everyday...
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:1-3...
Receive the Holy Spirit and the Power to Forgive God wants us to live lives of forgiveness. We all must willingly choose to obey God and forgive any offense, from the smallest to the largest, no matter how much the devil tries to poison our thoughts with bitterness. This is often easier said than done, but God doesn’t expect you to do it on your own. You cannot forgive without the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s too hard to do on your own, but if you are truly willing, He will send the Spirit to help and enable you. You just need to be willing and humble and cry out to Him for help. In John 20:22, Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit!” His next instruction was about forgiving people. He’s saying the same thing to you. He wants to fill you with the Holy Spirit and enable you to forgive, but you have to ask and receive Him. If you are willing, God can give you the power to get rid of any bitterness and unforgiveness in your heart. Ask God to breathe the Holy Spirit on you so that you can forgive those who have hurt you. Prayer Starter: God, I am willing. Breathe on me and fill me with Your Spirit. I choose to receive the enabling power of the Holy Spirit and forgive. -Joyce Meyer: Promises a For your Everyday...
